GravWorks overall approach
What’s the overall approach (see more details here, including example)
- Roles. All activity is by users allocated defined Roles. Roles control access, available actions, authority, and level of experience or knowledge. Each user can have 1 or more roles. Sites can add any number of roles.
- Data Organisation. Even though all action is performed by users with roles, all action, history, approval or decision is taken by a user but attributed to an ‘Entity’ record. An Entity record might be a business, group, individual (business record), event, qualification, class, breed, variety, anything really.
- This provides for Separation of User from Entity, otherwise things quickly become confusing.
- Data Management. All data is managed in GravityForms (GF) tables. Feature rich, GF is ideal for this. GF uses the WordPress database (there are several options for this) to store the data. The WordPress database is very practical, feature rich, accessible (for non IT professional types) and robust.
- Views display your data in tables or pages. They are managed by a Plugin (GravityView) that uses GravityForms tables and produces viewable, editable tables, records etc. It’s feature rich and includes organisation, restricted views and and in line edit controls, Maps, photos, documents.
- A sophisticated workflow system is provided by GravityFlow. Its feature are numerous and very powerful. Using GravityFlow you can design many complex workflows with a great range of features.
- Added Functionality is available including advanced data types, data inheritance to new records, unique ID numbers, etc.
- these plugins work together so there almost no ‘coding’ needed to get spectacular results. You can focus on the design and process rather than the code and efficiency.

We provide the flexible and lightning fast Premium GeneratePress Theme (included) to all our sites.
If you want access to our provided plugins just ask (on initial application form or update form). But we provide the standard WordPress administration access to you, so with your Administrator user role you can add or upload Plugins and Themes as per any normal WordPress site.
You can add any other plugins you choose (there are a few exceptions that can interfere with hosting). Plugins from WordPress Organisation should be automatically updated with the regular site maintenance we provide automatically.
